As if often true after a shooting incident, the topic, appropriately, turns to the issue of gun-control.
The University of Kentucky has had it’s fair share of controversy about it’s rules prohibiting the ability for students and faculty to carry concealed weapons on campus but that conversation has largely been dormant as of late.
Unfortunately, as time grows in between this past weekend’s tragedy in Tuscon and the ongoing conversation, I anticipate the concealed-carry debate will be revived.
Sure to be a hit with UK’s stoner/country demographic, Willie Nelson’s newly formed TeaPot Party as endorsed Gatewood Galbraith’s campaign to be Kentucky’s next Governor.
Both men have been proponents of the legalization of marijuana and hemp so the endorsement is not much of a surprise.
Galbraith has run unsuccessfully for various offices in Kentucky including commissioner of agriculture, governor (four times - as a Democrat in 1991 and 1995, 2007, and as a Reform Party candidate in 1999), U.S. representative (twice), and attorney general.
The man can’t take a hint.
If you’d like to run into an often shirtless (well in the summer) Gatewood, head to the Chevy Chase Starbucks off of Euclide here in Lexington!
Little does UK know that this campaign is bunk.
